At this time we don’t. However, our shoes fit true-to-size, there is little to no break-in period, and they will conform to the shape of your feet over time.
We have created five guiding principles to help us reduce our environmental impact as we develop products and release them into the world:
- Build long-lasting products which can be repaired rather than replaced.
Instead of chasing the latest trends, we create timeless pieces you can wear year after year. They are made with materials that will stand the test of time, and can be easily repaired when needed.
- Encourage thoughtful consumption and minimize impulse buying.
A made-to-order (MTO) system helps us create fewer but better-made things. Since gratification is delayed, it also encourages you to consider what you're buying.
- Eliminate dangerous toxins in our raw materials.
We use vegetable anilines, water-based solvents and natural waxes in our process. And our raw material suppliers are audited for responsible chemical management.
- Reduce energy consumption, usage of raw materials, and production of waste.
By crafting your products to order, we use resources efficiently (and only when they're needed) and reduce waste. Your demand dictates our supply. There's never unsold or discarded inventory going to landfills.
- Actively seek how to improve our impact and carbon footprint.
We put as much effort into designing our products as we do into our business and production models. We understand it's an active and long-term commitment which requires constantly exploring new possibilities.
There are more 150 manual steps involved with making our products, and each one is controlled by an artisan. They either execute the step by hand (as in the cutting of leather and application of the soles) or with the help of a hand-operated machine.
The entire process takes from 6 to 8 weeks to complete. We don't take shortcuts. We do things the old way which is the only way to guarantee the longevity of our products.
We believe the human touch is essential and invaluable.
If you know your Brannock device size (the measurement tool you see in shoe stores), order that size. If you don’t know this size, but have dress shoes from other brands such as Cole Haan, Johnston and Murphy or Allen Edmonds, use that size. For reference, see our size chart. If you need a personalized recommendation, please contact Customer Service.
Full-grain leather indicates no artificial correction was applied to the hide in the tanning process. This is important because it preserves its natural integrity. As with any other skin type, the outermost layer is where the fiber density is highest. In full-grain leather this layer is kept intact which results in better adaptability, flexibility, breathability and resistance. Full-grain leather also has visible pores with a natural appearance. It's easier to care for as it absorbs conditioning creams. It doesn't crack or peel off and develops a unique patina as it ages. In short, it's the best leather type.
We are happy to offer a one-year warranty against any manufacturing or design defects. Damage from use is not covered under the warranty. We offer replacements or store credit for manufacturing defects. Please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
All of our products are ethically handcrafted in our studio in Bogotá, Colombia. In a world of mass production, it’s a privilege to offer products made with care and passion by experienced artisans. It’s our duty to honor their craft and humanity by ensuring responsible and fair working conditions. You can view a video of the production process here:

Our cedar shoe trees are made in the US by a company with decades of experience.
Beckett Simonon was actually founded in Bogotá, Colombia where leatherwork has a long tradition and heritage. In 2017 we invested in a workshop that has existed for three generations, and is the only one in the country making fine leather goods in a way that meets the high standards of our customers.
Finding experienced craftspeople is not easy. It took us time, but we've assembled a team of highly experienced artisans who are passionate about producing the best leather goods possible. The quality is incredible and the operation is exclusively ours.
Additionally, having our own workshop allows us to be hands-on during every step of the process, to oversee quality control and to ensure ethical and responsible working conditions.
Our full-grain calfskin leather comes from Grupo Mastrotto, a tannery based in Arzignano, Italy. They are amongst the most well-respected tanneries in the world. This leather wears extremely well, looks amazing and will conform to the shape of your feet over time.
Our bags are also made of this durable, yet supple leather and they will last a lifetime.
Other components for our shoes, bags and belts are sourced from providers in Spain, Italy, Japan and Uruguay.
Suede is actually more durable and easier to maintain than you might think. Our water-repellent repello suede is perfect for shoes and boots. No need to worry about exposing them to light rain or snow.
We use veg-tanned, full-grain leather soles for the majority of our shoes and boots. Not only do they look amazing, they are flexible and durable.
To make these soles, bovine leather bends are infused in a mix of chestnut, mimosa and quebracho which causes the leather fibers to slowly compress. This results in a robust and malleable, cellular structure.
For some styles, we use SBR rubber soles for great traction and shock absorption.
Our sneakers are outfitted with all natural rubber soles which resist wear and tear, provide great traction and are highly shock absorbent. Rubber soles are stitched-on as opposed to being glued or vulcanized.
Yes. Our Blake-stitched shoes can be easily resoled.
Blake-stitching is a shoe construction technique that started in the mid-19th century, and what we currently use. It has multiple variations, but basically consists of attaching the upper, lining, insole, midsole and outsole through a row of stitching. This means these critical components are actually stitched together rather than being merely glued on. This system creates a sturdy shoe that can be resoled when needed. Blake-stitched shoes are also comfortable and require minimal break-in.
This is highly subjective. We have worked with both methods and in our opinion, there's no rule regarding which is best. It's argued Goodyear Welted is a more labour intensive process, hence it results in universally superior products. While in theory this is true, in reality, what determines quality goes well beyond this point. From our experience, a shoe should be judged by so much more than its construction method alone. Consider the quality of the leather, components, processes, finishings and fit just as important, if not more.
It really is a matter of personal preference. Our customers have responded more positively to the Blake method as compared to our previous Goodyear Welted line. It creates a lighter and more comfortable shoe. Also Blake-stitching allows for a sleeker profile with a nicer taper around the waist which looks beautiful and increases arch support.

A last is a foot-shaped mold created in different sizes for each specific shoe style.
Leather needs to be slightly heated and humidified to achieve a proper temper for the lasting process. An important mark of quality is the drying method that follows. This can be measured by the time the leather stays on the lasts, the more time the leather stays on the last, the better the result will be. During the process, the leather fibers stabilize and adapt to the volume given by the last.
We leave them at room temperature for a minimum of 72 hours instead of using artificial drying systems common in mass-produced shoes. This results in a better looking and more stable shape which preserves the leather structure over the long term.
All of our shoes are lined with full-grain Vachetta leather, which is:
- Durable and won’t break.
- Supple and easy on your feet.
- Minimally treated without harsh chemicals.
- Breathable so your feet won’t suffocate.
We use solid brass fittings for our shoes, bags and belts. Some of the components are forged in our workshop in Bogotá, Colombia and others are sourced from providers in Spain, Italy, Japan and Uruguay.

There are different possible causes for a squeaky shoe. The most common, particularly in sneakers, is due to friction between the tongue and the quarters of the shoe. This can be easily fixed by putting a little talcum powder below the tongue of the sneakers.
Another cause is due to an air pocket between the insole and the outsole. When you walk the air is pressed and produces the sound, as in a squeaky toy. It can be caused by altitude or extreme temperature changes. To fix this, you can take your shoes to the cobbler and tell him to put the sole in the vertical press for a couple of hours until the air pocket is completely flattened.
Another cause is when the steel shank gets detached from the insole. It won't cause any structural issue as the shank is still sandwiched between the insole and outsole but the sound can be bothersome. To fix it, a cobbler needs to disassemble the sole and put new rivets in the steel shank.
Before you do anything, please contact Customer Service and they will advise you if your situation is covered under the warranty.
Factory seconds are products that have slight cosmetic marks on their surfaces or that have minor imperfections such as misaligned/uncentered labels. These superficial flaws have not caused structural damage nor do they affect product quality and durability.
Please try to use promo codes while they are active. If you don’t, the special offer will end when the code expires. If this happens, you are welcome to contact Customer Service to see if they can do anything for you.
Sign up for our VIP newsletter on the footer of any page to get exclusive updates and promo codes.
The only products promo codes don’t apply to are seconds (seconds are products which have slight, usually unnoticeable, cosmetic marks) which are deeply discounted, so you basically get them at cost. Seconds are not exchangeable or returnable.
Promo codes also don’t apply to some accessories such as shoe trees.
Offers can’t be combined or applied to past orders.
As much as we would like to ship internationally, there are two reasons we don’t:
- It’s important for us to offer free shipping, exchanges and returns. We can do this within the contiguous US, but international shipping is too expensive for us to execute at our scale.
- Every country has different regulations governing taxes and duties when someone buys internationally. We cannot absorb these costs. When we offered international shipping in the past, customers complained about these fees and abandoned their packages.
We are always looking for solutions to these issues, and ways to ensure we can offer the same top-tier service worldwide as we offer to our customers in the US. Please let us know if you have any suggestions.
At Beckett Simonon, every product is made to order, which means it’s crafted just for you after your purchase, never mass-produced.On average, you’ll receive your order within 10 to 12 weeks. We know this isn’t ideal if you’re looking for something immediately. But if you can wait, the reward is worth the wait:
This approach allows us to deliver products made with the finest materials, at prices unheard of for this level of craftsmanship.
If you’d like to hear from other customers who took the leap, check out our reviews here: https://www.beckettsimonon.com/pages/beckett-simonon-reviews
Yes you can within 30-days from the delivery date as shown on your tracking information. This policy doesn’t apply to worn items or factory seconds.
Not very long. With every monthly campaign, we produce a small reserve of items to facilitate size and style exchanges. Keep in mind since our products are made to order, the exact same product you originally ordered may not be available. We will do our best to get you the same or similar item.
The refund will be issued one business day after we confirm the product is unworn. Keep in mind that every credit card company takes different times to process refunds. In general, you can expect the refund to appear in your account from four to seven business days after we issue it to the credit card.
If you don’t see the refund within this time period something may have happened during the process. Please contact Customer Service right away and we will investigate the issue for you.
Refunds made to PayPal appear immediately.
Shipping is free within the contiguous US for delivery, returns and exchanges.
We try our best to accommodate all requests. However, since the products are made-to-order especially for you, changes need to be considered on a case-by-case basis. We recommend you contact Customer Service to find out if production has started on your items.
Depending on the timing of the changes, your revised order could be shipped with the same batch as your original order, or it will be added to the next production batch.
Once your order is fulfilled (shipped out) you will receive an automated email from us with the tracking number. Please contact Customer Service to find out a more exact shipping date.
Generally, your items will be delivered to you between six and ten weeks from the time you place your order. During that time, you will receive emails every two weeks updating you on how your items are being made. You will also get behind the scenes access to our studio, and meet some of the artisans creating your items. If you don’t see the emails in your inbox, please check your spam and promotions tab.
Please contact Customer Service if you don’t receive the email updates.
Ordering from Beckett Simonon is a two-way commitment: We commit to making and sending high-quality products for you, and you commit to fulfilling the payment obligation. Since our products are made-to-order, the charge on your card acts like a reservation. It’s pretty much the same when you book a flight in-advance. The airline commits to providing transportation and you commit to paying the fare. You may cancel your order at any time and receive a full refund, but the charge demonstrates your commitment to the process.
It is only possible to charge complete payments for your order in one transaction to one card.
Unfortunately, we can not accept wire transfers, cash or checks.
Please contact Customer Service [service@beckettsimonon.com] and a representative will update your address on the backend. Note: If you change your address on your Customer Account, it will be applied to future orders, not the current one. To make a change in an existing order, please contact us. We will be happy to help.
If your package is stolen, or if it's missing after the tracking number shows that it has been delivered, we will have to place a claim. An investigation will be opened to locate the package (if possible).
To start the process, please send an email to service@beckettsimonon.com with your order number and we will place the claim.
We will follow-up with you after the carrier informs us of the investigation results. The investigation can take up to 10 business days to be resolved.
Keep in mind that we offer replacement products or store credit for lost or damaged products, we do not offer refunds.
Also, our policy covers cases of missing packages that are reported to us up to 15 business days after the delivery date shown on the tracking information.
Since our process involves over 150 manual steps, we can’t rush orders. And, we don’t keep inventory since that adds costs which would be passed on to our customers.

Heel slippage is normal, but it shouldn’t be excessive. Slippage of less than half an inch is normal and will decrease as the soles break in. See our blog post on how shoes should fit for more information.
This is a matter of personal preference. Some men like their shoes to be very snug and grip their feet, while others prefer to have some breathing room. Generally, we recommend a snugger fit right out of the box, because over time, the leather will stretch and adapt to your feet. The inserts we provide can help if you want more snugness or cushioning. In any case, your shoes should feel well secured. For specific information on sizing, see our blog post on how shoes should fit.
The way we construct your shoes helps to shorten or eliminate the break-in period. However, it is still a personal experience. The break-in period depends a lot on your foot shape, making sure you have the right size, the types of socks you wear and the way you walk. If you find the shoes too stiff at first, don’t worry - they will soften and mold to your feet over time. If you experience any discomfort, we recommend you wear your shoes indoors before wearing them for a long period outside.
All of our shoes are made with the standard D width. After research and consideration, we determined this was the best width to start with.
We would love to be able to offer options for all widths. It’s on our wishlist of things to accomplish as our company grows. Developing a range of lasts and designs to fit all foot sizes is very costly. For a small and relatively young operation such as ours, it is not economically feasible. We understand your frustration and have taken steps to fit our existing sizes to as many feet as possible.
If you are an E width, going up a half size should work for you (for example if you are a size 9E, order 9.5 with us).
If you need a personalized recommendation, please contact Customer Service.

We recommend ordering your usual size, but opt for open laced shoes, like Derbies. If you must have closed laced shoes, like Oxfords, then order half a size up and wear them with inserts which can be removed if your feet swell. We recommend against ordering Loafers.
You should order two size over your pants size. For example, if you wear a size 32 trousers, then order a size 34 belt.
